Shannon Wieland

  • University of Northern Iowa: 2-time Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year, 3 time First-Team Academic all-MVC honoree. First UNI volleyball player to earn Division I All-American (2nd team) AVCA honors in 1999. 2-time UNI Hall of Fame inductee.

  • Setting and Assistant Varsity Coach, Valley High School: 2006 - present, Eight state tournament qualifiers

About Shannon:

Shannon continued her playing career as a 4 year starting setter at UNI. Her incredible career earned her being inducted in the UNI Hall of Fame twice. Once in 2015 as an individual and in 2018 as a member of 1999 UNI volleyball team (which was for the first time in school history a Sweet 16 contender). In 2000, she represented the state of Iowa as a nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award. 

She has been a Setting and Assistant Varsity Coach at Valley High School, collectively for 17 years, leading them to qualify for state 8 times. Prior to joining PowerPlex in 2023, she has coached club for 6 years with 3 teams qualifying for Nationals.
