About Tina
Tina's (Kruckenburg) high school volleyball career was nothing short of remarkable. During her senior year, her team clinched the state championship, a feat that earned her 1st Team All-Conference and All-District. These awards were a testament to her outstanding performance and leadership on the court. Tina then continued her playing career at Indian Hills Community College before transferring to Iowa Wesleyan University.
There, she truly shined as a setter, earning All-American honors in both her junior and senior years, a reflection of her skill, leadership, and dedication to the sport. In Tina's junior year she was ranked 47th in the country in assists per set for NAIA. Tina set a single-season record for assists per game (12.80) and a career record for assists per game (12.11). She finished 8th overall in the country for assists per game in NAIA in 2005. She also had a 96.2% serving percentage her senior year.
After her collegiate career, Tina's passion for volleyball led her to start and run her own club in Iowa Falls, where she nurtured young talent for several years. Her coaching career took a new direction when she moved to Des Moines and became an assistant coach at Grand View University, contributing her expertise to the development of the university’s volleyball program. In 2008, Tina joined PowerPlex Volleyball Club as a coach, bringing with her a wealth of experience from both her playing and coaching days. Tina stepped into the role of co-director in 2011, a position she has excelled in ever since. As co-director, Tina has been instrumental in running lessons, coaching teams, and helping to design and implement new programs that enhance player development. Her dedication to the club’s mission and her ability to inspire both players and coaches have been key to the growth and success of PowerPlex over the years.
In 2018, Tina, alongside Crissy, co-founded Xtreme Beach Volleyball through Sportsplex. This program offers both recreational and competitive beach volleyball leagues for athletes of all skill levels, further diversifying the club's offerings and expanding opportunities for players to excel in the sport. Xtreme Beach Volleyball quickly became a popular platform for both seasoned players and newcomers looking to improve their skills in the beach volleyball setting. In 2024 Tina and Natalie Sieck’s 12U team entered into USAV Nationals at the Patriot Division, earning 35th.
