About Meg
Meg (Gammell) Jackson’s passion for coaching volleyball has led to an impressive coaching career lasting over 20 years. During her time as the Head Coach at Woodward-Granger, she earned Conference Coach of the year 3 times, and District Coach of the year 4 times. In her 16 year run at Woodward-Granger, she had a 314-156 record, and guided the team to its 2011 state tournament appearance, the only in the school’s history at the time. Several of her players earned all-district and all-state recognition. Meg became a volunteer at Dallas-Center Grimes for 4 years, before stepping into the head coach position in 2022. Her Fillies lost in the regional final her first year as head coach, and a 20-13 record her second year.
Meg also runs the DCG AAU Volleyball Club giving the chance for more athletes to continue growing their skills throughout the year. Meg joined PowerPlex in 2023. In 2024, Meg and Crissy Nelson coached their 14u team to an Iowa Regional championship, earning them a bid to USAV Nationals. They competed in the National Division, placing 22nd. In the 2025 season, Meg and Crissy Nelson’s 15u team has earned 3 USAV National Bids. Their first was in the USA Division at Sunshine in Florida, placing 2nd. They then won the MN Northern Lights Qualifier in the American Division. They also placed 2nd at Iowa Regionals, earning another American Division bid.
