About Alyssa

Alyssa was a three sport athlete in high school, earning letters in volleyball and golf. She continued her education at Wartburg College where she participated in intramural volleyball. 

Prior to joining PowerPlex, Alyssa coached and helped direct Urbandale Volleyball Club from 2010 - 2012. She also started and ran her own club, Mojo, for a few years. Alyssa joined PowerPlex in 2016 and started running Jr. League in 2018. In 2022, Jr. League became Spring and Fall Training. Alyssa builds out all the lesson plans for the program and handles all communication and scheduling. Alyssa primarily coaches 14 and 15u as those have become her speciality age groups. In 2024 Alyssa and Sophia Volk’s 14u team placed 4th at regionals, eventually earning them a bid to USAV Nationals. They competed in the Liberty division, placing 23rd.

• Johnston High School: 3-Sport Athlete; Volleyball, Basketball and Golf, Varsity Letter Winner in Volleyball and Golf

• Wartburg College: Bachelor of Arts in International Business, participated in intramural volleyball
